Here's the current version of Reggie! Next Milestone 3! There are two versions, the source code, and the released version.
The source code is often always the most up-to-date version. How to Run Reggie! Next from Source.

Running Milestone 3 from source code will most likely be slower than the built version!

Sprite Data:
The latest spritedata.xml can be found here:
http://kemonoart.org/nsmbw/spritedataREWORK.xml
To download, right click on the page and select "Save As."
To install, rename the xml to spritedata.xml, and then place
it in the reggiedata folder, replacing the original file.


Reggie! Next M3 also adds a Quick Paint Tool by John10v10!

Have one stable editor where all the basics work:
- No sprite crashes the editor
- Paths are fixed
- Copy/paste and Reggie!Clip is fixed
- Area importing is fixed
- Diagnostics Tool is fixed
The other things are bonuses and not that important (Real View, Collision etc).

Tileset Collision View would need to be fixed. Currently it's also showing Layer 0/2 tiles as having collision, while only layer 1 tiles should have it. Otherwise works good.

Tile God ~
It would be nice, if the tiles spawned via Tile God could show the "real" tile in gray.
Example: In the Tile God settings we set 1 as the row and 14 as the column and this would spawn a coin from Pa0 if set to mode 8. Now if it could actually show that coin in gray instead of just the Tile God sprite would be fantastic.

Actor Spawner ~
Exactly the same thing: Show the sprite selected in the AS settings in gray instead of just the AS sprite. Now the origin of the sprite would not always match the in-game position, but it would be better than nothing and a huge improvement working with AS.

Favorite sprites in the top navbar!

The possibility to add an info picture to the "Modify selected sprite" window.
It would also be nice to show a picture of the selected sprite, which could be pulled from the already available sprite images.

Examining what was said overall :


More stuff :

- Wii Screen Overlay : It would change based on zoom, it would be pretty cool to check zone dimensions and get borders right
- Remove dragging zone borders with pointer : this doesn't actually move or resize a zone, so it's pointless to even keep it
- Add tileset/BG to reggiedata : It would be cool to select a custom tileset and then being able to save it in the .xml file for future use
- Listen to music : When selecting a track, there could be a button to redirect to an online resource and listen to the song. Low priority but very useful with Newer, as the song list is confusing
- Delete Button : Instead of only keeping cut and paste i'd be glad to be able to delete things, especially entrances, paths and locations. It's currently only an hotkey, shouldn't be hard.

- If technically possible, add ability to copy/paste locations, entrances and paths instead of just tiles and sprites.
- Most levels are horizontal, but Mouse scrolling only works vertical. Now for those who don't know, you can scroll horizontal by pressing the ALT key while scrolling, or while hovering over the bottom scroll bar and scrolling.
Maybe someone has an idea to improve this situation.
The only thing I could think of is to give the option to swap up/down and left/right scrolling behavior. I know this would be very counter-intuitive, but could prove useful.

I like that idea very much! Btw, has anybody updated the spritedata? If not then I can upload my version which has half a dozen changes.

Aren't all the individual tiles already loaded/rendered by Reggie for "normal use"?
Of course, the items in the Tileset Palette are objects and not tiles, but they are made of individual tiles, so I'd be surprised if they didn't exist somewhere.

Nice idea! Right now it's way too complicated to add such info.

I agree Danster64.
When I first asked about this feature on Rvl, RoadrunnerWMC responded and created the "Sprites currently in this Area" function, which also shows some info about events. Not exactly the feature I was hoping for but it's damn useful nonetheless.
A clean events list would be just as useful in addition to the currently loaded sprites list.

No one has updated the spritedata in all this time. The last known version is the one on your GDrive dated March 28th, 2015. You surely could upload an updated version, and maybe implement the changes suggested by TobiasAmaranth on Trello

Sure I can upload my slightly edited version. But I'll check first what Tobias wrote, can't remember exactly. Didn't he want to overhaul the entire thing.

Edit:
More recommendations pulled from Trello:

- Multivalue data type
- Multibox data type
- Off-camera Zone Border (12 blocks) & complain when a zone is within 12 blocks of the canvas border.

Edit2: Yeah I can add that info sooner or later to the spritedata. I'd appreciate it though, if someone else could do it.

I'm really bad remembering stuff. Yeah I've tested all those sprites and Tobias wrote the text.
I'll see what I can add from there, if no one else wants to do it.

Here are my ideas:
  • Can we get rid of the "Add/Change Password" feature (in File --> Level Information of Reggie! Next) in the new "Reggie! Next 2"? It's rarely used AFAIK, and is kind of pointless in my opinion.

  • I don't know anything regarding "File --> Level Information" of Reggie! Next, but if it's rarely used and/or is pointless, too, can we get rid of it in the new "Reggie! Next 2"?

Well if you don't wish to get rid of it (the "File --> Level Information" in Reggie! Next), if you feel it's not pointless, for the new "Reggie! Next 2", fine.

But if we decide not to get rid of it, and if it's rarely used now, it should only display the info, but not have the option to edit/change it.

But I'm definitely getting rid of the option to password protect levels, since it's pointless in my opinion.
